We are continually amazed at what our local historical society has accomplished. They have a hard working board and team that provides so many resources for our community and guests visiting the area.
Since our home is a beautiful historical Sea Captain’s home, we enjoy being a part of their historical tours during the months of August and September. The tours are scripted by Sally Gunning, a talented author living here in Brewster. In her Widow’s War historical novel, she has captured what it was like living in Brewster in the 1800’s. I love reading her books as it’s fun to think of Captain Freeman being a part of that history. Sally’s books are for sale in the museums’s gift shop and also on Amazon:
My favorite book of Sally’s is Monticello, another historical novel about Thomas Jefferson and his devoted daughter, Martha Jefferson Randolph.
