We just returned from a wonderful vacation out west with our son Nathan. The picture shown above is on the Gallatin River in Montana where we had a great visit with Byron’s brother and family in Bozeman.
We also visited with his sister in Cody and the families cabin just outside of Yellow Stone National Park. Every time we visit I am just amazed with theĀ natural beauty and majestic mountain ranges.
My mind has been thinking about decorating our new private area along with some of the newly remodeled rooms. We found an old buffalo head in our storage unit which his dad found in the mountains many years ago. We shipped it home where is will grace Byron’s new office.
The old door was a treasure we found at the cabin that was an original mail door used in a small buildingĀ where families collected their mail in the mountains. We are going to use it as a door to reach the storage under the stairwell…….so excited! (Byron thinks I am crazy)
Well today is DAY 13 of our renovation and our contractors have made HUGE progress. Shown below are a few pictures. Keep in mind everything is in the rough:)
Location for our new Farmhouse sink. The new granite counter tops are being templeted on the 30th.
Our current cabinetry moved away to make way for the new 3 bay sink and dishwasher.
Walls removed in the kitchen to open up the new Farm to Table kitchen.
Taddaaaaaaa…entrance into our new private area with my new closet in the rough:)
New wall for the gas fireplace that can be seen from the kitchen and living room.
Mashpee is going to be our new bedroom with the gas stove. Shown to the right is our new shower fixture. The bath will have a pocket door as we are working with a small space.
New stairwell to the family room/Byron’s office.
Original brick wall with a window that we are going to insert a stained glass mural of the Nauset Light house. Byron’s desk will be in this area.
Home for our new cedar closet
Barnstable room ready for the new gas stove.
P’town wall ready for the new modern gas fireplace. Once we tore down the wall we found extra room to include a new bench and storage area.
Eastham room is ready for the new gas stove in the corner where the bed was. Can’t wait to start redecorating in this room. Have the perfect leather chairs planned to flank the stove with an ottoman.
I love it all! Have patience my friend. The quiet, waiting days are the hardest…..
HI Sherrie,
So glad you were able to see everything in the rough:) Our contractors tell us that huge progress will be made the week after Thanksgiving. They are teasing me as I have all of the new furniture, fixtures and rugs all ready to place……you are right as I know patience is a virtue! Happy holidays to you and Ralph. Fondly, Donna & Byron and Harrison too
