It’s always fun to hear the Top 10 beaches as voted by Dr.Beach , a Florida academic who gathers professional data and criteria to annually rank all of the United States beaches. Our treasured Coast Guard beach came in #6 for 2017.
We were not surprised as all of our beaches are special- each for their own unique reasons. For this blog- we thought it would be fun to mention all of our favorite Cape Cod beaches, which have been gathered with our guests’s feedback.

- Favorite Sunset beach– Paines Creek in Brewster. We frequently walk to the beach at sunset. The cascading colors are beautiful on all of the bay side beaches with our favorite being Paine’s Creek. There is something very magical about the ways the colors shine on the creek feeding into the bay.

2. Favorite wedding beach– Crosby Landing in Brewster. We have hosted many weddings at the Captain Freeman Inn and have a tradition of bringing our bride and groom to all of the wedding locations in Brewster the day before their ceremony. Most choose Crosby Landing. It’s just picture perfect for a ceremony!

3. Favorite sunrise beach- Fort Hill in Eastham. This past winter Byron and I rose early to catch the sunrise at Fort Hill. It was spectacular, even on a cold winter day. Fort Hill is a popular area for birdwatching ,and I had fun writing a post about the birds that have been sited in that area.

4. Donna and Byron’s favorite beach on the Atlantic side is Marconi Beach in Wellfleet. We love to walk the beaches year round and are especially fond of Marconi. It’s a perfect beach to ride the waves in the summer.

4. Best beach to do the Arctic plunge- Nauset beach in Orleans. A couple of year’s ago Byron mentioned that he wanted to do a polar plunge on New Year’s day. I was shocked needless to say! It was a freezing cold day and my two favorite guys dove into the Atlantic and were fully emerged…crazy guys!

5. Best beach to see a horse- Point of Rocks in Brewster. Last summer we were walking the beach at low tide and were amazed when we saw Harrison running by a horse and boat. 🙂

6. Best beach to kayak- Boat Meadow Beach in Eastham. We came upon this beach and loved seeing all the small boats with the beach being aptly named- Boat Meadow beach. How fun!

7. Best beach to watch the whales in the spring- Race Point Beach in P’Town. We heard from several guests this spring that they were amazed how many whales they could see from race Point beach. One Sunday we headed up to observe. Byron brought his fancy camera and was able to catch some great shots.

8. Most Romantic beach- our daughter Jenn was married on Mant’s Landing in Brewster several years ago. This Mom is prejudice, but I think that is the most romantic beach on Cape Cod.

We love to help guest’s decide their beach choice of the day. This year we have added backpack beach chairs that are available to our guests. A great option is to walk to Breakwater beach in Brewster which is just a short walk from the inn.

Harrison can vouch……Breakwater Beach is a great place for a sunset swim!
Bring on that sunshine and warm temps……

Beautiful and glorious pictures of Brewster.
Donna, is that you on the horse?
I love following your site.
Thank You Annie
I only wish that was me on the horse Annie:) When we just completed the fencing around our new garden several guests asked if we were getting a horse. It was always my dream to have a farm with horses where I could ride everyday….. Maybe when we retire. Appreciate your being our neighbor.
