I must confess- I love to shop and if the budget would allow, I would be a weekly shopper and redecorator. There is something about the shopping adrenaline when you find something really special at a great price. I guess that explains why I enjoyed my former career as a furniture buyer-Byron frequently reminds me that back then, I was spending someone else’s money that had a much larger wallet:) Oh well!
Guests are frequently asking me good spots for shopping, and I love sharing. So here’s a go at my favorites on Cape Cod-
La Bodega is a small boutique located in Lemon Tree Village in Brewster. This shop contains some fabulous clothing by designers such as Comfy, Niche, Chalet, Cut-Loose and Habitat. All are comfortable, well made and unique. We have a 10% coupon available for non-sale items. p.s. they always have good sales so I try to buy off season.

Wood Works Gallery http://www.woodworksgallery.com/Gifts.html- also located in the Lemon Tree Village. This is a perfect store if you are looking for a unique gift. They have a great eye for quality, functional pieces.

Spectrum Gallery
http://www.spectrumamerica.com/gallery/index.php. A wonderful gallery in west Brewster that has a mixture of fine art, leather, pottery, jewelry and unique pieces- all made in the United States. They have been at that location for 50 years and continue to excel.

Wayne’s Antiques http://www.waynesantiques.com/index.html Located a few miles from the inn. The picture above perfectly describes what you will find in this unique store- a little bit of everything! I recently found some darling hat boxes that decorated a room armoire perfectly.

Francis Francis- http://francesfrancisdesigns.com/index.php/collections Great web site that showcases the wonderful designs in this store. Things are not cheap but you know you are getting a unique piece as many are made by local seamstresses in beautiful fabrics sourced from all over the world. They have two stores- one in Orleans on Cove Road and one in Wellfleet. I also love Fly England shoes, and they usually have a nice selection.
Yankee Ingenuity– https://yankee-ingenuity.com/for-cape-cod-lovers.html We recently received some lovely wine glasses from this store. This summer I was in Chatham and remembered to check it out. I was impressed. Great selection of gifts, jewelry, art, some clothing, games and cards- all really well priced. I now recommend to all of our guests visiting Chatham to stop in this lovely store.

the Bird Watcher’s General Store http://www.birdwatchersgeneralstore.com For all those bird watchers out there this store is not to be missed. We also like to recommend that you stop in Sir Crickets which is right next door, for a delicious fresh lobster roll.

Last but not least is our treasured Brewster General Store. We feel so lucky to have them just a few steps from the inn. I would imagine that just about every one of our guests stop in this local gem- it’s filled with gifts, candy, toys, newspapers, fudge, games, t-shirts, cookbooks- just to name a few.
Happy shopping everyone! And please during your stay with us, if you find a unique shop, store or gallery, please pass on the details.

Harrison passes on his approval of all the great shopping spots on Cape Cod.
