Happy to report that ALL of our inside remodeling and redecorating is done at the Captain Freeman Inn this year. These two innkeepers are celebrating tonight with a dinner out at Mahoneys🙂 Now all of our thoughts are moving to our exciting outside projects. Pictures on that in a future post.

Following tradition, I love writing this blog and showing our readers all of our finished projects. This can be useful information when choosing your summer stay room:) Byron and I are still amazed with the transformation the inn has taken!
Our first guests enjoyed the Truro and Wellfleet baths this past weekend and raved about the comfort of the soaker tubs and heated floors.

We have added some fun new bathroom amenities including soft linen towels, a new room Lemon eucalypsus mister, all organic lavender eucalupsus shampoo and conditioner from Bumble and Co and local made lavender lemon hand and body cream from Artisan Brothers.
The bath in Truro is similar in design.

I am very intrigued with the comfort qualities of linen. We have found a great source in Greece that makes beautiful duvets. Testing this new fabric for our beds and window treatments. The new duvet in Truro, complete with matching shams fit in perfectly with the simple elegant decor already created.

I had a vision to transform our tea room into a “french cafe kinda feel” after seeing a picture on Pintrist.

The red sideboard just arrived and the chalk board wall is a great spot for guests to write “Hello” or “Goodmorning” in their home language. I reached outside of my comfort zone with the color choices but am so glad I did as the room takes on a whole new character…..I think something Captain Freeman would approve.

For all of our guests needing a first floor room, the deluxe Orleans room has been transformed. The room includes this new king 4 poster bed with

a glorious new bath with heated floors and a fancy walk in shower. This heated floor thing has knocked my socks off!

We added several new storage pieces for several of our rooms with Harwich getting this beautiful dresser and mirror, Barnstable accented with these matching marble nightstand chests and

P’town getting this functional high chest.

Every year we like to add to our green initiative by making energy improvements to our building. This year we blew in added insulation to the third floor and new windows for Eastham and the hall. We’ve already seen the difference in our energy bills.

The Dennis room has a new chandelier , closet and decor…

Saving the best for last- a new addition to our family-Gabriel graces our hall wall, a perfect place for him to watch over us.

Missing our organic gardens at Brewster by the Sea. This spring we are adding a new large garden at the Freeman. This is a picture of my dream…..lets see how close it comes this year to looking like this:)
Happy gardening everyone.
