I have always loved the holidays and look forward to Brewster for the Holidays when our town celebrates the beginning of the holiday season. This year the event is celebrating their 10th anniversary, and it seems like just yesterday when I was asked to join Wendy French and Charlotte Fyfe (in the lovely dining room at the Candleberry Inn) to talk about reinventing the town celebration. The three of us worked hard to organize a small town event that year and each year the committee grew until the event included concerts, arts and crafts shows and many business open houses. This years magical three day event is on December 2,3 and 4th and will not disappoint, as many fun events are scheduled.

For the last eight years the celebration includes a new ornament that is designed by a local artist. It’s fun to collect each year’s unique theme and to enjoy them on your holiday tree.

The 2016 ornament features the band stand at Drummer Boy Park by artist Karen North Wells. This is where the Brewster Band plays its wonderful summer concerts. Bring a blanket and a picnic, and enjoy a piece of classic Americana! And to remember the event, purchase the ornament. $15 at participating outlets including By the Bay Design and Woodworks Gallery in Lemon Tree Village.
