Home made granola recipe
Recipe type: Cereal
Serves: 6 cups
Byron loves this recipe as it always comes out crunchy.
  • 4 cups Old Fashion Oats
  • ¾ cup sliced almonds
  • ¾ cup whole pecans
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups craisons (optional)
  1. Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl mix together the oats, nuts, sugar, cinnamon and salt. In a small saucepan heat the oil and honey together, stirring to mix well. Turn off heat and add vanilla. Pour over the granola and mix well with a wooden spoon. Spread mixture onto two cookie sheets lightly sprayed with Cooking Spray. Reduce oven to 300. Bake for 15 minutes and then take out of the oven to stir thoroughly. Repeat this process 4 times. Turn off the oven and remove cookie sheets. Place the sheets back in the oven when the temperature reaches approximately 250. Leave for 2 -3 hours with the door ajar. When the granola is totally cool place in an airtight container.
