Why we love Nauset Beach on Cape Cod | Captain Freeman Inn

Everything that is Special about Nauset Beach

We are fond of all of our Cape Cod Beaches- what makes them so special is that each one is so unique.

Nauset Beach is one of our favorites and we frequent it many times in the quiet season when we usually have the entire beach to ourselves. This is also a great summer beach to set down your beach chair and umbrella. Any season, Nauset Beach provides a place to walk for miles and miles and to have breath taking views of the ocean. During storms or on a quiet, sunny day, no matter the time of year  you will be in awe of nature’s glory at Nauset beach.

Shown below are the details of why we feel Nauset Beach is SO special:

  1.  This is the perfect beach for walking. You can walk for miles and miles.

2. Nauset beach has awesome sunrises.

3. You’ll be able to enjoy five food trucks that line the parking lot in the summer months and have lots to choose from including falafels, hummus and fresh corn. There is also a nice picnic area to eat your lunch….

4. This beach has clean rest rooms and changing areas with showers.

5. Soft white sand makes for perfect walking but know if you are going swimming, you’ll need water shoes as the wave area can be rocky.

6. In the summer time this beach has refreshing ocean water and breezes on a hot day. (the water will be quite a bit colder then our bay beaches near the inn)

7. Nauset beach is a great place to see seals bobbing in the water and sometimes, especially if you have binoculars, you can see whales in the distance.

Things to remember

  1. Since we have such a large seal population on Cape Cod, especially on the Atlantic side, beware that white sharks have moved into the area. While many body surfers use this beach because of the large waves, we recommend staying close to shore and using this beach for walking and shallow beach swims.
  2. Remember to bring your bug spray and suntan lotion.
  3. If you are going swimming, wear your water shoes as their are small rocks as you walk out in the water.
  4. This is a popular beach so during the summer months go early or later in the afternoon to miss the crowds.
