I love this time of year as everything is coming to life. At the CaptainFreeman, we have been busy with many new outside projects including a new salt solar heated pool, new vegetable and herb garden and a new game area in the backyard including Crouquet and Corn Hole.
This year’s calendar is filled with many exciting events. Listed below are some of our favorites:
We love our Brewster Band and savor their summer concerts on the lawn of Drummer Boy Park every Sunday evening.
During Brewster in Bloom the band does a opening concert for the 2017 season at the Brewster Baptist Church at 7 pm on Friday. You can just walk to the concert from the inn and it’s FREE- how many things in life that are so special and are free??
On Saturday enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the inn and watch the 5K Bloom run from the inn’s porch or if you are a runner register that morning and join in on the festivities at 10 am when the run begins.

Afterwards head over to the Sea Camps where you can wander through the Crafts Fair.
MAIN EVENT: JURIED FINE ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW at CAPE COD SEA CAMPS…10 AM – 5 PM. 3057 Main Street. Featuring more than 90 vendors. Free admission and parking.
There is a new business in town and this weekend is the perfect opportunity to visit and see a weaving demonstration.
Weaving Demonstrations at TANZER WEAVING STUDIO & GALLERY…10AM – 4 PM. 2623 Main Street. Ongoing weaving demonstrations for adults and children. Sign up for summer weaving classes! Our Brewster Historical Society is awesome, and they have some fun open house events to see.
Historic Tours by BREWSTER HISTORICAL SOCIETY…1 – 4 PM. At Windmill Village at Drummer Boy Park, 773 Main Street, enjoy guided windmill tours, blacksmith demonstrations and Harris Black House self-guided tours.
Open House at ELIJAH COBB HOUSE MUSEUM hosted by the Brewster Historical Society…1 – 4 PM. at 739 Lower Road. Hand-crafted items, books and more. Enjoy a visit to the new home of the Brewster Historical Society! 508-896-3809
Everyone loves a cup of chowder while visiting Cape Cod. Why not stop by JT’s for a tasting?
Chowder Tasting at JT’’S SEAFOOD RESTAURANT… 2 – 3:30 PM. 2689 Main Street. Enjoy a sample of JT’s award winning clam chowder!
We are so lucky to have so many art galleries and antique shops in Brewster. On Sunday enjoy a self guided tour to see them all.
MAIN EVENT: ARTS & ANTIQUES EXCURSION…10 AM – Closing. A self-guided tour of Brewster’s numerous antique and art galleries.
Onto our favorite part ……the old fashion parade, which you can watch from our comfortable porch at the Captain Freeman Inn
MAIN EVENT: BREWSTER IN BLOOM PARADE presented by ATLANTIC PAYROLL and BREWSTER INN / WOODSHED…1 PM. From Eddy Elementary School west on Main St. to Swamp Rd. – staging begins at 12 Noon.
Afterwards visit each of the 5 inns in Brewster and enter a drawing to receive a $200 gift certificate to the inn of your choice.
BREWSTER IN BLOOM INN TOURS…2 – 4 PM. Five Historic Inns to visit! Refreshments served at each location. Enter a special prize drawing for a $200.00 gift certificate usable at any of the 5 Inns. Tickets are $10 per person and includes admission to these five inns; all proceeds benefit the Cape Cod Children’s Place.
